"100 Nights of Sketch: Breath of Connection" is a portrait series where I create one every day for 100 days, using pen and ink to explore the connection between trees and humans. Each sketch combines the forms of iconic figures who have inspired me with the organic elements of trees, highlighting the essential relationship that binds us together. Concept and Vision Trees and humans are linked because trees provide the oxygen we breathe, while we exhale the carbon dioxide they need. In this series, I envision a world where this vital exchange is represented through art, merging the essence of influential people with the natural beauty of trees. Artistic Approach The series features detailed pen and ink sketches that blend the shapes of these celebrated individuals with tree elements. This combination symbolises the mutual dependence between us and nature, capturing the beauty of this symbiotic relationship. Visual and Emotional Impact The sketches invite viewers to reflect on their own connections with nature and the people who inspire them. Each portrait not only pays tribute to these influential figures but also celebrates the profound bond between humans and trees. Conclusion "100 Nights of Sketch: Breath of Connection" is a creative exploration of the essential relationship between people and trees. Through daily sketches, I honour those who have shaped my life and highlight the beautiful, often unseen connections that sustain us all.
